Listing a swap

So you’ve got something to swap?

Let’s get your awesome offer out there for other members near you to see.

To post a swap, click on the ‘add’ button, and choose ‘swap’ at the bottom of your screen on the community page.

Categories:

Fill out the form, starting with the type of thing you’re swapping. Choose the best fit from the categories in the dropdown. For example, if you have apples, select ‘fruit’

Next, get more specific about what you have to swap. This is where you’d enter ‘apples’ if that is the fruit you were swapping.

Quantity and unit:

Let people know how much you have to swap. Your swap listing will be available for multiple offers, which you can accept or decline. For example, if you have a tree full of apples, you might want to set up a swap listing for 6 apples, or a KG of apples. You can accept as many swap offers on this listing as you like until you have no more apples to swap. At that point, you would close off the listing, and mark offers you’ve traded with as complete.

Suburbs:

Your own suburb is listed by default, but you can add in any other suburbs that you are open to swapping with. Maybe you live in one suburb but work in a suburb on the other side of town- you can list these here by selecting from the dropdown list.

Description:

Use the description to give more information about what you’re swapping. You can let people know:

  • More specific details about the variety

  • Whether it is spray-free, or organic

  • How you’d like to conduct the swap (whether it is pick up only or you want to meet somewhere)

  • What you’d like to swap for, if there is anything specific you’re after

Please don’t provide personal details here like your phone number or address. Only give these out when you are private messaging and feel it is safe to do so. We recommend meeting in a public place for your first swap with someone if you can. All swaps are peer-to-peer and managed by you and the people you swap with. Please always get in touch with us if you have any questions or concerns around swap safety.

Upload a pic:

You can upload a photo of what you have to swap if you wish. Please don’t upload stock images, let’s keep it real and show people what you actually have to trade.

Now just hit the ‘post swap’’ button and voila! Your swap will be listed and shown to the people who are potentially able to swap with you.

You’ll see and be able to manage your swap listing in the messaging overview. Here you’ll also see when people make offers on your listing and complete the process through private messages. For more info on managing and completing swaps, take a look at this GUIDE.
